Cherries
Tasty, rich in vitamins, and with an irresistible color... one leads to another!
An ancient fruit
Cherries were already eaten in Neolithic times!
This fruit was also very appreciated by the Romans: it was them who spread it across the empire!
Red as love
Cherries are often associated with love and legends about lovers!
These fruits are thought to bring good luck in love; as a matter of fact, the cherry was the fruit of the Goddess of beauty: Venus.
In Sicily, they say love declarations made under a cherry tree will always be lucky.
According to some Saxon legends, cherry trees are home to gods that protect the fields. In Finland, they believe that the red color of this fruit is the symbol of sin.
Origin
Our cherries come from Italy and Spain.
